Atlanta Botanical Garden, Storza Woods

Ed Castro Landscape was selected as landscape contractor for the installation of Storza Woods at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. The existing Canopy Walk leads to where Storza Woods begins – a peaceful stroll through a lovely woodland garden. The project includes a dynamic plant list of trees, shrubs, and perennials that required a great deal of coordination to source; once sourced, plants had to be approved by photos before they could be delivered. The limits of work are very confined with minimal room for storage and extreme care must be taken when working around the roots of the existing trees. ECL has worked closely with ABG to ensure that their vision is achieved through plant layout and planting techniques. Safety is an important concern when working in such tight spaces and with some very large specimens, as is the need to be careful and considerate of the preservation of the natural environment. This garden will feature an artist’s installation once the planting is complete, and we are honored to be included in the process.
